Fiona and Janette are two old school buddies who lost touch and came back together during lockdown when Fiona moved back to the area to care for her parents. Fiona eventually made the choice to give up work and devote her time to supporting her dad through dementia and keeping him in the home he loved until he passed away in 2021.
She then continued to support her mum who was severely disabled, but sadly died in February 2024. Through this very intense but very rich time, Fiona has found solace in nature and reconnected with the beautiful environment in which she grew up. This has given her the opportunity to develop her passion for growing wild flowers, and being out in nature has helped her to cope with the demands of caring.
Janette, it is safe to say, has always had green fingers! She started her horticultural career at the age of 10 and spent every hour with her grandad in his garden watching and learning those old growing ways. Janette then went on to manage a tomato nursery for 11 years and currently has her own nursery, growing strawberries commercially with her husband.
When lockdown hit, and we were fortunate enough to have some outdoor space, it was the perfect opportunity to marry Fiona’s passion and knowledge of wild flowers and Janette’s growing skills.
Wildflower beds were created and we started work on our own small wildflower meadow. Not only was this great for our physical and mental health through difficult times, but it felt wonderful to be giving back to nature and discovering just how much more there is to learn.
We grow everything by hand like Janette’s grandad did many years ago. This gives the required care and attention to these delicately rooted plants. If the root system is established and strong, the plant will be healthy.
Our plants can be used in beds or to rewild meadows. We don’t want to interfere with nature, but we do want to give you and it a helping hand. Where possible, we are keen to work with people to conserve and enable the propagation of local species.
Our vision is to get as many people as possible to look at their gardens and see if there is a space. 1 x 1 meter is all you need. A trough or planter will also be fine. Our plants will bring the beneficial insects back, bees, butterflies and a mini biodiversity of life will come. If we can all do a little bit it will make a big difference to heal this beautiful planet we share with nature.
Hopefully, the Buzz Stop can make two old friends share their passion of these wild plants and get everyone giving back to nature.
We hope you feel inspired to have a go and give back to nature too. Then we can all can sit back and enjoy this beautiful planet at its best.

We grow and sell peat-free native wildflowers and also offer an individual service to help create a variety of beautiful wildflower spaces to attract butterflies, bees and other wildlife.
